Penny Mac

Project Manager:
Mike Ferguson

Site Superintendent:
Ricardo DeLaCruz

PROJECT SCOPE OVERVIEW:

Penny Mac is located in Fort Worth and have over 300 employees working in their facility. It is an office environment with many co-located cubes in close proximity to each other. After an extensive renovation an odor was noticed that was affecting the work environment. After repeated attempts to get the odor located and fixed by the original contractors went un-successful Penny Mac contacted Quantum North America to help them solve the problem.

Our investigative team went to work to deduce what could be causing the odor. We sat down with the Penny Mac facility leadership to go over the plans of the recent major renovation project. It was in this process that we learned that an extensive piping project had been completed. Correcting the problem would require cutting into walls to access the piping.

By narrowing down where the work had been accomplished, we were able to strategically cut into the walls keep the damage to walls minimal. We then found that a pipe that was cut was left open causing the odor leak into the work environment.

KEY PROJECT ATTRIBUTES:

Coordination with the facility leadership was crucial to solving this problem. Their previous experience with the contractor that initially did the work and caused the problems were not thorough and caused major frustration to the Penny Mac team. With a strategic and logical problem-solving approach Quantum North America was able to efficiently eliminate the problem and provide a safe and clean work environment to Penny Mac.

KEY TO PROJECT SUCCESS:

Sometimes it’s technological ability and know how that gets the job done; sometimes it’s just plain old hard work and being willing to go the extra mile that does it. With a strategic and logical problem-solving approach Quantum North America was able to efficiently eliminate the problem and provide a safe and clean work environment to Penny Mac.
